Chanchal Banga was born in India and currently lives and works in Tel Aviv Jaffa, Israel.

His multidisciplinary practice, spanning painting, installation, and performance, explores themes of identity, mythology, and transformation.

Drawing from Indian cultural traditions and miniature painting, Banga creates a visual world inhabited by hybrid creatures, often part human, part animal.

His paintings evoke a mystical, dreamlike atmosphere, where foggy landscapes blur the line between the real and the surreal.

Banga balances minimalist forms with layered cultural references, and weaves humor, sexuality, and socio-political commentary into his work, reflecting on displacement, nature, and the evolving human condition.

Chanchal exhibited in various group and solo exhibitions in Israel and around the world.

Among them Ras Al Khaimah Art 24, United Arab Emirates (2024), Karpuchina Gallery, Prague, Czech Republic (2023), The Lab, TLV, Israel (2021); Wilfrid Israel Museum of Asian Art & Studies, Israel (2008, 2020); Nova Scotia, Canada (2013), Janco-Dada Museum, Ein Hod Artist Village, Israel (2015, 2019); The NGMA Mumbai Museum, Mumbai, India (2015), Zadik Gallery Jaffa, Israel (2015, 2018), Tel Aviv Artists House, Israel (2011, 2014, 2016, 2022), Art Kino, Stockholm, Sweden (2010), Escape Gallery, New Delhi, India (2009), Jerusalem Artists House, Israel (2008),
